Curriculum and Learning

Curriculum

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) has oversight over the goals and objectives of the instructional program for public schools. They work with the school districts and others to establish a quality education program that develops the whole person.

Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular programs allow students to expand on their passion and learning in a variety of different subject areas.

First Nations Education

First Nations history, language, and culture are an important part of our curriculum. Learn more about access to language learning and our enhanced programs.

French Second Language

All students in our district can develop their capacity to speak French as a second language. Learn more below.

Learning Options

Various options are available to accommodate students who would benefit from different learning environments, approaches, and locations.

Report Cards

Report cards provide information that details how your child is performing and progressing. By understanding your child’s report card, you can better support them in their educational journey.

PowerSchool Portal

The PowerSchool Portal is an online tool that enables parents and students to become informed and involved partners in Education.

The portal can keep you informed about what’s happening at school, track your children’s progress, and provide you with online access to your children’s teachers and classes. All families are encouraged to set up an account.

Setting up an account

To gain access to the PowerSchool Portal, you will need to sign and return the Posting and Release of Student Information form provided by your children’s school. Please contact your school directly for this form.

Once signed and returned, the school will provide you with a letter containing a Student Access ID and password.  When you have this letter, please consult the support document and video tutorial to help you set up and finalize your account.
