VIDEO: District teams with Harvest, local artist on whimsical teaching tool

The musical concept of dynamics, as shown in one of local artist Colin Smith's music-education posters. Anglophone West enlisted Smith to produce a series of seven whimsical posters for use in music classes at each of the district’s 70 schools. The posters feature animals exemplifying the seven elements of music: beat and rhythm, dynamics, harmony, melody, tempo, texture, and timbre.

Geary students honour and charm seniors

Thanks to a $25,000 grant from the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program, the school could purchase computer and audiovisual equipment, which students in kindergarten through Grade 5 used to participate in a virtual meetup on Valentine's Day with residents of Enhanced Living Oromocto. Enhanced Living residents took student questions on several topics, including favourite foods and how they were feeling. And in a move contrary to the norm, students read a story to the seniors.
