On Wednesday, March 22, students at Hanwell Park Academy demonstrated their love of pizza by participating in a livestreamed pizza-making class under the guidance of two generations of one family: Michelle Alcorn, host of Atlantic Canada Cooks and president and CEO of Atlantic Canada Language Academy (ACLA), her mother Helen Alcorn, and her aunt Greta Dixon.
The event, a collaboration between the province’s Centre of Excellence in Health, the school district and Alcorn’s Atlantic Canada Cooks broadcast, focused on intergenerational learning, hands-on learning, and nutrition. And thanks to the livestream, approximately 600 students within the province tuned in, as did residents of two care homes, and more than 30 ACLA students watching from 11 countries.
