Middle school students from Cambridge-Narrows Community School took part in an innovative project during the 2024-2025 school year. They researched the tree species in the community forest pathway behind the school, created online presentations about each species researched, then used X-Carve technology and their own muscle to build wooden physical QR Codes that were placed onto each type of tree.
When members of the community encounter a QR Code on one of the pathway’s trees, they can scan it with their phones to see the students’ presentations and learn more about that tree!
