Principals from the province’s four anglophone school districts, as well as directors from the districts and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD), gathered, on Oct. 9 and 10, at the Fredericton Convention Centre for the LEAD 2024 professional learning (PL) seminar.
The EECD-funded seminar, hosted by Anglophone School District West, with help from the other three anglophone school districts, NB LEAD, and the province, was intended to provide school leaders with information to enhance their leadership.
Roughly 280 school leaders heard from presenters on a variety of subjects, including Wabanaki teachings, building leadership potential, Positive Behaviour Intervention Support, cultivating equity priority group leadership, and enhancing the relationship between experienced and early career teachers.
The event was sponsored by NB LEAD, the New Brunswick Teachers’ Association, New Brunswick Teachers’ Federation, FranklinCovey, Atlantic Education International, Covey Basics, Dell Technologies, and the NBTA Credit Union.
In addition, attendees were entered into raffle drawings for various gift bags. Prizes were donated by the four anglophone school districts, as well as the following regional businesses:
