Kudos to our Anglophone School District West chess champs!

More than 50 Grade 3-5 students from nine district schools in the Fredericton and Oromocto areas gathered at Lincoln Elementary Community School on Thursday, Feb. 15 to participate in our annual district chess event.

The winning students are:

  • Grade 3 First: Oscar Bonneau—Hubbard Elementary School
  • Grade 3 Second: Kaine MacPherson—Lincoln Elementary Community School
  • Grade 4 First: Youssef Abuamer—Royal Road Elementary School
  • Grade 4 Second: Owen Russell—Gagetown School
  • Grade 5 First: Omar Alabdullan—Barkers Point School
  • Grade 5 Second: Nolan Sherrard—Royal Road Elementary School

Winning students qualify to participate in the March 17 Provincial Online Qualifier.
